My Approach to Anxiety Treatment.

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is painful. It takes our daily tasks and it makes them harder. It takes our worst fears and exploits them, making us feel that something bad can happen at any time.

Anxiety is painful. It’s also annoying, and it’s frustrating. It gets in the way of our relationships. It gets in the way of our goals. It distorts how we view the world, others around us and experiences we have.

If you’ve experienced anxiety before, you know what it feels like to be controlled by thoughts that might not even be true, and feelings that overwhelm you. You know how it feels to be controlled and misled and afraid at all times.

How I treat anxiety.

When treating clients with anxiety, I provide a calming, nurturing environment. I will help you identify negative thought patterns and beliefs you hold about yourself and the world around you.

Using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and liberation oriented therapy, we will help you gain relief from your anxiety, and give you the tools to manage symptoms as them come, putting you in charge.

Getting treatment for your anxiety is brave, and it is a service to yourself. Take your life back. Your relationships, your work and your self—take it all back.

Anxiety Therapy FAQs.

What kind of therapy is best for anxiety?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the best type of therapy for anxiety. CBT teaches you how to view yourself more clearly, addressing negative self-talk and negative beliefs you may hold about yourself. And yes, I offer CBT!

How long do I need to be in therapy?

This answer can vary! Everyone comes to treatment with different issues, but the one thing they have in common is that they’re in pain. During our first few sessions together, we will decide on your treatment goals. As time progresses, you may hit your goals and decide that you would like to stop therapy, which is great! You may also notice that there are other issues that could be worked through in therapy, which is also great! Ultimately, you decide. I am here to support you along the way.

Why is anxiety important to talk about?

A lot of the thoughts we have about ourselves, others and the world around us are influenced by the worries and fears anxiety brings. Talking about these things outload, helps you assess how true these thoughts are, which is very helpful if the thoughts are harming us.

When should I get therapy?

Most people start therapy when they have been struggling for a long time and need help. But you certainly do not need to wait until you are without hope or in crisis. Therapy is great for any state of emotional wellness.

Is therapy worth it?

Most individuals in our culture are under the impression that surviving our day to day challenges is enough. In therapy, you can learn to not only survive your existence, but to fully live in it, and even enjoy it. So yes, therapy is absolutely worth it.

How do we meet for sessions?

We will meet virtually on the platform Therapy Notes, which is an EHR system, or electronic health record. It is also utilized for scheduling, appointment reminders, paperwork and payment.

What is the cost per session?

  • 60 Minute Intake (these happen once) - $200

  • 45 Minute Therapy - $165

  • 90 Minute EMDR Therapy - $300

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance, services are cash pay only. But I highly value my clients’ time and hard earned money, so I do assist in the reimbursement process by providing superbills. Learn more about navigating out-of-network reimbursement and the benefits of seeing a cash pay therapist here.

What if I’m not a resident of Pennsylvania?

I am licensed to provide counseling in the state of Pennsylvania. For residents outside of PA and abroad, I provide similar services under the label of “coaching“. Learn more here!

What is your cancellation policy?

Just as I value my clients’ time and hard earned money, I also value my own. The time we schedule together is sacred, and if you are cancelling your session with insufficient notice, you are taking time away from another client who potentially needs it. Because of this, I have a strict 48 hour cancellation policy. This means that any sessions cancelled within the 48 hour window, including “no-show“ sessions, will be charged the full rate of service.
